Our design is inspired by the ancient Chinese folk art – paper-cutting, which uses tools to create a variety of hollow patterns on paper. The school hospital seems to be simply stacking these art-processed pieces of paper to create a building with a unique cultural identity.

Shenzhen University Affiliated Hospital

In this general hospital design, we tried to dismantle and reconstruct the traditional garden elements, from the flat garden of the courtyard and the green roof to the three-dimensional garden of the facade, which penetrated into every corner of the hospital. The inspiration for the design is derived from the oriental paper-cutting art. The volume of the building is like stacked paper, which brings a gentle and pleasant feeling. .
